TO: Senator Johnny Isakson, Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Ethics

Dear Sen. Isakson,

I’m writing today to urge you, as Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Ethics, to formally censure Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) for their anti-Christian bigotry, and their violation of the U.S. Constitution during the confirmation hearing for Russell Vought.

During Mr. Vought’s confirmation hearing, Sens. Sanders and Van Hollen attacked Mr. Vought for his Christian faith, simply because he believes in a fundamental cornerstone of our faith: that eternal salvation is found through a belief in Jesus Christ.

The conduct of Sens. Sanders and Van Hollen was not only offensive and discriminatory towards people of faith–but it clearly violates Article IV, Section 3, of the U.S. Constitution, which specifically bans “religious tests” like the one they tried to impose on Mr. Vought.

Because of their actions, their anti-Christian bigotry, and their refusal to faithfully uphold the Constitution, I urge you and your colleagues on the Senate Select Committee on Ethics to formally censor both Senators.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
